02 Filing
How to file a return on Tax Asaan
Have your salary tax certificate and a list of your assets at 30 June ready.
Install and log in
Get Tax Asaan from Google Play or the App Store (publisher: Federal Board of Revenue). Log in with your CNIC and IRIS password. New? Register on IRIS first.
Choose the return
Pick the income tax return for the tax year. Salaried people can use the guided version.
Enter income and tax deducted
Salary and tax from your employer's certificate, then any tax deducted on bills, bank profit or vehicles.
Complete the wealth statement
Your assets and liabilities at 30 June. The difference from last year must match your income minus spending.
Submit
Submit, pay any balance with a payment slip (PSID), and save the acknowledgement.
What is the Tax Asaan app?
FBR's free mobile app for Android and iPhone. It lets you file your income tax return, register with FBR, make tax payments and check active taxpayer and NTN status from your phone.
Can I file my tax return on Tax Asaan?
Yes. The app has a guided return for salaried people and the normal return for others. It uses the same account as IRIS.
How do I log in to Tax Asaan?
With your IRIS login: your CNIC as the registration number and your IRIS password. If you are not registered with FBR yet, register on IRIS first or through the app's registration option.
Is Tax Asaan safe to use?
Download it only from Google Play or the Apple App Store, published by the Federal Board of Revenue. Never enter your IRIS password in an app or website you reached through a message or ad.
Can I check my filer status in Tax Asaan?
Yes, through its verification options. The quickest way is still an SMS to 9966: "ATL", a space, and your 13-digit CNIC.
